Known as the ‘Mother of Hubble’, Nancy Grace Roman is shown here at the Yerkes Observatory at the University of Chicago in 1948.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, the North Dakota Space Grant Consortium shared an inspirational video detailing the contributions made to the Hubble Telescope by women. The video was created by an alumni of the North Dakota Space Grant program, Katrina Jackson, who now works as a Science Video Producer at Goddard Space Flight center. The women featured in the video hold many different titels, from astronaut to social media lead. This video shows the hardshhips and obstacles that the women had to overcome to become part of the Hubble Telescope team. The video, titled Mission Impossible: Women of the Hubble Space Telescope, can be viewed here or downloaded here.
