College students and faculty from seven colleges across the northeast gathered on the University of Hartford campus for a week-long workshop in NASA’s Nationwide Eclipse Ballooning Project.

Participants in the workshop learned about ballooning, including how to measure changes in the atmosphere during an eclipse using various instruments such as barometers and atmospheric cameras in addition to equipment used on the ground to monitor these instruments.

Various Connecticut news outlets covered the group’s first launch from the University of Hartford campus on May 24, 2023.
