The third annual “Community College Quadcopter Challenge” was hosted by NASA’s Connecticut Space Grant Consortium (CTSGC) at Quinebaug Valley Community College on Friday, April 13, 2018. Five teams represented four Connecticut community colleges during the competition, which challenged the teams to build and fly their own quadcopter through an obstacle course. The teams included: ACC Quadcopter from Asnuntuck Community College, The Quad Squad from Northwestern Connecticut Community College, The Quad Squad, The Other Team from Northwestern Community College, QQ from Quinebaug Valley Community College, and the New England Rotors from Three Rivers Community College.

Prior to the competition, the judges interviewed each team. The team members were then tasked with maneuvering the quadcopter through an obstacle course. The quadcopter had to perform various tasks throughout the obstacle course. The reigning champions, Quinebaug Valley Community College, successfully defended their title for a third year.

Information on next year’s challenge will be available soon.
