Organization: The Discovery Museum
Location: Bridgeport, CT
Project Title: High Altitude Balloon and Rocketry Payload Design
Start/End Dates: (Flexible) 2 – 3 month project duration; any time January – September 2018
Internship Type: Technical, Educational 
Brief Project/Internship Description: Help Discovery Museum STEM Learning Programs team develop custom payloads for rocketry and high altitude ballooning for high school students as the end users. The work will involve working with high school students in prototyping payloads for educational programming at the Museum.
Required Qualifications: Anticipated full-time student during 2018 Spring semester enrolled in an academic affiliate college/university with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. U.S. citizenship is required. Computer and electrical engineering skills, ability to program microprocessors, familiarity with 3D printing and CAD software to design frames and brackets, willingness to work with and mentor high school students.
Preferred Qualifications: Interested in STEM education, HAM radio experience desirable.
