Project Title: Blockchain for Manufacturing Process
Brief Project/Internship Description: 
The objective of this project is to devise and implement a framework to protect digital information that is generated and transmitted in typical manufacturing shop floor operations.  Blockchain technology will be utilized for this.  The intern(s) will work with CCAT to devise a simple digital process flow and write computer code to secure the digital content in a blockchain.  Programming language can be Python, C++, or similar.  The digital process content will be generated by CCAT and can include CAD (design) files, machine control programs, and automated quality inspection files.  The intern(s) will devise the blockchain to protect that information.

Required Qualifications:  Major in Computer Science with proficiency in computer programming in a high level language (C++, Python, or similar).  Full-time student during Spring 2019 term enrolled in an academic affiliate college/university with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. U.S. citizenship.

Project Title: Student STEM and Manufacturing Summer Institutes
Brief Project/Internship Description: 
CCAT seeks Education & Workforce Development student interns to assist in the planning and delivery of comprehensive, experiential STEM and workforce development/career awareness programming for students in grades 4 through 10, with a focus on manufacturing, engineering, sustainable energy, and/or aerospace-related curricular areas.  Interns will be responsible for program coordination, administration and logistics, as well as working directly with students in both formal and informal classroom settings implementing contextual hands-on activities and workshops

Required Qualifications: Candidates will be pursuing a degree in one of the following content areas:  engineering, manufacturing technologies, science, and computer programming; or a STEM-related teaching degree (middle school or high school teacher preparation program). Prior experience with CAD/CAM software platforms, 3D printing, and/or robotics a plus. Excellent computer, organizational, and communication skills and an interest in promoting STEM engagement and manufacturing/engineering career awareness. Full-time student during Spring 2019 term enrolled in an academic affiliate college/university with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA. U.S. citizenship.
