Call For Apps Spring 2016! DEADLINE EXTENDED!

  Due to inclement weather, the deadline has been extended.  The new deadline is Tuesday, February 9th at 2:00 PM.   The Connecticut Space Grant Consortium’s Spring 2016 awards are now open for applications!  Aside from Scholarship, Fellowship, Research, Internship, and Travel Grants, the CTSGC has created a Student-Faculty Summer Research Project Grant that will enable undergraduate students, university and/or community college, to gain meaningful research experience in CTSGC Affiliate research laboratories. NASA HERO Solicitation Released; Accepting Proposals

NASA’s latest Research Announcement (NRA) titled “Human Exploration Research Opportunities (HERO)” solicits research in support of the administration’s Human Research Program (HRP).  The HRP contains various elements and disciplines concerning human health and space exploration, and is partnered through a Cooperative Agreement with the National Space Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI).  More detailed information on this opportunity below: “The HRP contains six Elements: Space Radiation, Human Health and Countermeasures, Exploration Medical Capability, Behavioral Health and Performance, Space Human Factors and Habitability, and International Space Station Medical Project. New Opportunity from NASA: Micro-gravity Design Challenge

Micro-g NExT, or Micro-g Neutral Buoyancy Experiment Design Teams, challenges undergraduate students to design and build prototypes of spacewalk tools and then travel to Houston to test their prototypes in the simulated microgravity environment of NASA’s 6.2 million gallon indoor pool – the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL).  The NBL is the NASA training facility where astronauts train for spacewalks. Through this activity, the NBL is open to students for hands-on research.  Encourage students to apply for Micro-g NExT.  The application deadline is January 28, 2015.
